Citywide Projects

UPDATE: 04/01/25- This project is still in the utility relocation phase. Utility providers will be on the right-of-way of both sides of Telephone Rd. moving their lines in preparation for the widening. There is no scheduled start time as it is dependent on the relocation efforts.

The project will consist of removal and replacement of sub-grade and base materials, as well as replacement of the existing driving surface with concrete between SW 19th Street and SW 34th Street.  Including necessary curb and guttering, storm drainage improvements, sidewalks, streetscape and utility line replacement.  Telephone Road will also be widened to from 4-lanes to 5-lanes. This is a $10.9 million project.

05/08/2025 UPDATE: This project is currently set to be completed by the end of June. OKC has not accounted for all the weather delays in April, so it could run into July. They are hoping for a June completion, weather permitting.

04/09/25 UPDATE: Per the City of OKC, SW 149th Street from Hudson Avenue to Vicki Drive will temporarily close to traffic from Friday, April 11, to Saturday, April 12. Crews are working on a storm sewer drain as part of the street widening project.

08/19/2024 UPDATE: Beginning Wednesday, August 21, 2024 Westmore Dr will be closed until May 2025.  The project construction manager has recognized potential safety concerns and has advised the City of Moore to close the street.

07/23/2024  Beginning Tuesday evening after 8:00pm, the Contractor performing the construction for the Widening of 149th Street in OKC from Santa Fe to Western will be closing lanes at the intersection of SW 19th St. and Santa Fe Ave. in Moore.  For Westbound traffic at the intersection, the existing left turn lane will be closed.  The existing westbound thru lane will be used for thru traffic as well as the left turn lane for traffic turning south during construction.  For Eastbound traffic at the intersection, the existing left turn lane will be closed.  The existing outside eastbound lane will be used for thru traffic as well as the left turn lane for traffic turning north.  The existing inside eastbound lane will now become the westbound lane for thru traffic.  Double yellow striping will separate the eastbound and westbound traffic west of the intersection during construction.  It is anticipated that construction will take approximately 8 months to complete.  Any questions regarding the project should be addressed with the OKC Project Construction Manager at 405-297-1768 or [email protected]

06/30/2025: Eastern & NE 4th St to Morgan Dr.- contractors for the City of Moore Water Department will begin moving in equipment for the installation of a new water main line. The installation will occur over the next few months, weather permitting. 

06/20/2025: SE 34th & Telephone Rd- Crews will be repairing a buckled up concrete joint in the area.  This will be done in phases.  Outside lane is complete.  Inside lane will start Tuesday, June 24, for approximately a week.
06/26/2025: UPDATE- Road way will be completed and opened Friday, June 27th.

06/09/2025: SE 12th & S Eastern eastbound lanes on SE 12th Street will be closed for approximately 60 days to improve the grade change.  Eastern Ave will remain open during this project.

05/22/2025: Norman St, Phase II- NW 2nd St to Main St will be partially closed for reconstruction.  The road will remain open during construction.  
06/23/2025: UPDATE- The intersection at NW 2nd and Norman southbound will be closed for approximately a week.

03/15/2025- NW 24th, N. Janeway, Shields, and Vermeer- Crews will be installing new water main lines on NW 24th St, N. Janeway Ave & Vermeer Dr. This project is expected to be complete by July 30, 2025, weather permitting. 

Little River Park:
06/26/2025- Contractors will be working on adding 2 additional exit gates to the Little River Splash Pad.  Construction is set to begin 6/27/25, with the completion date set for 7/1/25, weather permitting.

Little River Park:
06/26/2025- Crews will be working on adding a sidewalk from the parking lot directly to the front entrance of the Little River Splash Pad.  Construction is set to begin by the end of July 2025 with the completion date set for mid- August 2025, weather permitting.

Little River Park:
06/26/2025- Crews will be working on adding sidewalks from the New Exit Gates of the Little River Splash Pad to the existing sidewalks.  Construction is set to begin by the beginning of October 2025 with the completion date set for mid- October 2025, weather permitting.

Buck Thomas Park Softball Fields:
05/22/2025- Crews will be working on drainage issues for the softball fields.  Construction is set to begin at the beginning of September 2025 with a completion date set for the end of September 2025, weather permitting.

Buck Thomas Park Football Fields:
05/08/2025- Crews will be working on drainage issues for the football fields at Buck Thomas Park.  Construction is set to begin by the end of July 2025 with the completion date set for the end of August 2025, weather permitting. 

Kiwanis Park:
05/08/2025- Crews will be working on adding a sidewalk from the parking lot directly to the front entrance of the pickle ball courts.  The Crews will also be making sidewalk repairs in front of the Brand Senior Center.  Construction is set to begin early July 2025 with the completion date set for the end of July 2025, weather permitting.

AT&T; 06/20/2025- crews are working down Eastern Avenue and Tower Drive and within the neighborhoods between them, they should be done this week with setting boxes and burying cable.

Urbansky Farms; nearest intersection is S.E. 19th & Sunnylane Rd.
Update: 06/12/2025- Property is being graded for development.

Cypress Creek; nearest intersection is S.E. 19th & Sunnylane Rd.
Update: 06/26/2025- Crews are installing sod and cleaning up and getting ready for final inspections.

Flicker Ridge; nearest intersection is N.E. 12th & Flicker Ridge.
Update: 06/12/2025- Crews are installing water and sewer improvements.

Broadmoore Heights; Section 3 nearest intersection is S.E. 34th & S Bryant Ave.
Update: 06/12/2025- Property is being graded for development.
