New Policy Change about buying Day Passes at The Station Recreation Center

Effective Friday, May 21st, 2021 All individuals age 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, with a photo ID showing birth date, to enter The Station Recreation Facility or The Station Aquatic Facility.
Day passes will no longer allow re-entry into the facilities. If a patron exits the facilities, a new day pass will need to be purchased for re-entry.

Soak up the sun while cooling off in The Station’s 45,000 square foot outdoor aquatic center. Unlike any other city recreation or community center you’ve ever visited, the aquatic center has a lazy river, three slides, a diving well, a lap pool, a splash area, and spray features that are guaranteed to keep the entire family entertained for hours.

The aquatic center has activities geared toward people of all ages! With three individual pools, the innovative design of our aquatics center separates shallow water from deep water and helps keep younger children separated from older, more active patrons. Enjoy a swim, lounge underneath one of the shade structures surrounding the pools, or grab a bite to eat at the outdoor concession stand.

The aquatic center can accommodate over 800 visitors and has trained and certified lifeguards on staff. However, parents or guardians must supervise all children 12 and under and must remain within arm’s reach of any child under the age of seven. Please review the aquatic center rules prior to visiting The Station.

Swim Lessons and aquatic classes are offered during the morning hours in the lap pool prior to general admission.

The Station Aquatic Center Pool Schedule 2021

The most prominent features of The Station at Central Park Aquatic Center are two, tall, brightly colored waterslides that wrap around with sharp curves and fast-paced turns. The slides tower 25 feet above the ground and are intended for individuals 48 inches and taller.

Visitors will have a blast twisting and turning down the spiraling waterslides before plunging into the pool below. The plunge pool empties into the lazy river, allowing patrons to go directly from the pool to the river without ever leaving the water.

Adventure seekers will want to do this time and time again!

The newest attraction at The Station Aquatic Center is the Green Body Speed Slide which state regulations require that all riders must be 42" or taller to ride the speed slide.  It is 32 ' tall and 320 ft in length.  No tube is required to ride this slide.

Perfecting your form or practicing your flips and spins in the 14-foot deep diving well. This area of the aquatic center features two diving boards: a traditional one meter springboard and a three meter high dive platform.

Ladders on each side of the diving well allow easy access out of the pool after a dive is performed.

The diving well is reserved for diving only, so general swimming is prohibited when diving boards are in use.

Lifeguards and aquatic center staff monitor the area to ensure safe diving and swimming practices, but patrons should dive at their own risk and follow all posted rules.

Did You Know

The Station at Central Park Aquatic Center offers a smaller family slide that can accommodate multiple people at once.  State regulations require that all riders must be a certain height to ride the slides.  A rider must be 48" tall to ride the Family Slide.

Parents can accompany their child on the slide, or friends and siblings can go down the wider-than-usual slide together.  The family slide is a great bonding experience, and the perfect way to build a child’s confidence before tackling the larger waterslides.

Both stairs and a ladder are accessible from the lap pool, giving patrons using the family slide multiple options to exit the pool upon entering the water.

Younger children will have a blast splashing and playing in the zero entry kiddie pool. Our kiddie pool is reserved for children seven years and younger and is separated from other areas of the aquatic center by a child-safe gate. Toddlers and young children can skip the stairs and submerge slowly into the water, wading directly into the pool as it slopes down to 12 inches at its deepest.

The kiddie pool is fun for the entire family and includes play features such as a spill tower and water sprayers. The railroad theme that is seen throughout The Station Recreation Center and Central Park is also reflected in this area of the aquatic center. Painted railroad tracks line the shallow pool, and a small train-themed slide and railroad crossing signals complete the fun design!

Lounge chairs and shade structures are located in the kiddie pool area for parents and children needing a break from the water and sun.

Children under seven must remain in arm’s reach of a parent or guardian at all times, and swim diapers are required for those who are not toilet-trained.

Race a friend or swim solo and reap the benefits of a great cardiovascular, full-body workout in our five-lane lap pool.

The lap pool ranges from 3.5 to 6 feet deep and is 25 yards across, making it the perfect place to practice your breaststroke, backstroke, or freestyle swimming techniques.

The family slide empties into the northwest corner of the lap pool. A basketball goal and climbing wall are also located in this addition to the aquatic park, which promises families and people of all age groups hours of fun and excitement.

Aquatics classes and swimming lessons are held in our lap pool during the morning hours prior to general admission into the aquatic center.

Did You Know

Relax on an inner tube and float down the 439 foot lazy river as it weaves through the aquatic center from the plunge pool, around the waterslides and seating area, and back. A wave generator creates a gentle forward motion in the water that effortlessly propel patrons through the river.

A relaxing and fun experience for people of all ages, the lazy river passes underneath a bridge and includes spray features and a rockscape with waterfalls.

Patrons will notice railroad tracks painted throughout the lazy river, corresponding with the overall theme of Central ParkThe Station Recreation Center, and other features within The Station Aquatic Center.

The bridge that passes over the lazy river provides access to family seating from other areas of the aquatic center.
