Construction has begun on the 4th street bridge

Beginning January 7th, 2019 repairs will begin on the 4th street bridge that goes over I-35.

I-35 ramps at SH-37 (S. 4th St.) close, detour; SH-37 narrows in Moore beginning Jan. 7

This project is weather permitting

Drivers can expect the following closures and detours beginning Monday, Jan. 7 and continuing through early summer 2019 for a project to rehabilitate the SH-37 (S. 4th St.) bridge over I-35 in Moore.

  • The northbound I-35 on-ramp from SH-37 will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to Howard Ave. and S.W. 4th St. to the on-ramp from the northbound I-35 service road.
  • The northbound I-35 off-ramp to SH-37/S. 4th St./Main St./N. 5th St. (mm 117) will be closed. Drivers can use the off-ramps at S. 19th St. (mm 116) or N.12th St. (mm 118)
  • The southbound I-35 off-ramp to SH-37 (mm 117) will remain open, but traffic will be detoured from the southbound I-35 frontage road to S.W. 4th St. to Classen Ave. to SH-37.
  • SH-37 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction at I-35

The speed limit will be reduced through the work zone. Drivers can expect delays and should plan extra travel time.

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission awarded the nearly $1.9 million contract for this project to C3 Construction, Inc., of Ada, in September.

Construction is expected to take several weeks. Updates will be provided as conditions warrant. Thank you for your patience and please be careful as you travel this area.
