Annual Monarch Migration

Every Fall, a magical event takes place- the annual Monarch migration to central Mexico. It is one of the most magnificent migrations that occurs on Earth. As they travel to Mexico they pass through Oklahoma. At present that migration appears to be moving into our area. As they move through Moore a large group visits Little River Park (north area of the park off of 4th Street, in the woods adjacent to the playground). It is quite a sight! Visit https://maps.journeynorth.org (best viewed in Google Chrome) to see where the Monarchs are presently at and to track their march south. Snap pictures and post them to our Facebook page: Moore Parks and Recreation.

There is signage at the park to assist in identifying the area where the Monarchs visit. If you visit the park, please do not disturb or harm the butterflies. They are quite magnificent and beautiful creatures. Enjoy the view and have fun!
