Adult Fitness Orientation

The cardiovascular equipment can be found in the orange flooring section of the fitness floor. Most of the equipment offers different language options, pre-programmed workouts, heart rate monitors, and emergency stop systems.

Rowers
The Station offers 2 concept 2 rowing machines

This area is located in the blue flooring section of the fitness floor. This area encompasses various types of workouts and fitness equipment. Emphasis is placed on lifting involving the use of weights. This can involve selectorized or pin machines, plate loaded machines, cable equipment, and free weights.

Free Weight Area
While free weight training is generally associated with heavier lifting it is important to note that The Station is not meant to be a power/olympic lifting gym and this area should be approached in a manner of general weight lifting. Free weight training generally involves full body movements, even when performing a lower or upper body workout it is important to note that the entire body will be incorporated.

Weight Racks
4 weight rack/free weight areas equipped with barbells, plates, safety bars, barbell pad, deadlifting platform and various benches.

Free Weights
Troy Dumbbells that range from 5 pounds to 100 pounds (5 pound increments) with various benches located in front of the dumbbell rack. Fixed Barbells ranging from 20 pounds to 100 pounds (20 pound increments), available in straight bar and curl bar. There are flat benches, adjustable benches, seat benches, decline bench, and a preacher curl station.

Plate Loading
The Station offers 3 different plate loading machines: the Leg Press, Hack Squat and Calf Raise. Plates ranging from 2.5 pounds to 45 pounds are available to use. View Video 1 View Video 2

Smith Machine
We offer a Smith Machine which consists of a fixed barbell that allows for vertical movement. All plates are available to be used on this machine, and benches and barbell pads are available for use as well.

Selectorized Strength Machines
Our selectorized or pin machines are a  good place for beginners to start as this will teach you the movement of exercises. This area also offers a place to focus more on specific muscles/body parts where the machines isolate these muscles. View Video

Cable Machines
There is a large cable rig that offers Cable Pulldown, Dual Pulley Row, Cable Row, Adjustable Height Cable, Dual Adjustable Height Pulley and a separate Dual Adjustable Height Pulley.

Upper Body
We also offer Life Fitness selectorized machines in the following: Chest Press, Shoulder Press, Row/Deltoid, Pull Down, Bicep Curl, Arm Extension, as well as a Hammer Strength Assisted Dip/Pull Up. All of these machines offer QR codes that will take you to videos for use.

Lower Body
Along with the upper body selectorized machine, The Station has Life Fitness selectorized machines in the following: Seated Leg Press, Leg Extension, Seated Leg Curl, Hip Abductor/Adductor View Video, Abdominal/Back Extension. 

This area of the fitness floor offers a more functional style of training where the emphasis is more on body weight and lightweight movements.

Track
This is a three lane track that offers a running, passing/jogging, and walking lane. The directions change each day and there is signage indicating which direction is associated with each day. 12 laps around the indoor track equals 1 mile. There are different entrances around the track so be careful entering/exiting and try to pay attention near these spots.

South West Alcove
This fitness corner offers battle ropes, jump ropes, medicine balls, dumbbells, kettlebells, exercise mats, an exercise ball, resistance bands, a pull up station, sit up station, lumbar extension station and a decline bench.

North West Alcove
This fitness corner offers various height workout boxes, dumbbells, kettlebells, jump ropes, resistance bands, exercise mats, exercise balls, and a TRX station.

Our Group exercise rooms are reserved during specific times for group exercise classes but are open for patron use outside of class times. There is a closet in each room that offers fitness equipment for patron use.

Group Exercise Room 1
This room offers exercise balls, TRX Set-ups, resistance bass, medicine balls, bosu balls, yoga mats, yoga, blocks, yoga straps, foam rollers, barre bars, dumbbells, kettlebells, Les Mills bars, and adjustable steps.

Group Exercise Room 2
This room offers 20 group exercise style indoor cycles, dumbbells, kettlebells, les mills bars, exercise balls, yoga mats, yoga blocks, yoga straps, adjustable steps, foam rollers, and resistance bands.

Types of Exercise

Station Bikes
  • Cardiovascular- exercise for your heart and/or lungs. The Station offers various forms of cardiovascular training such as treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, stairmasters, and a track.
  • Strength- exercise in which resistance, including body weight, is used to induce muscular contraction. The Station offers various types of strength training such as free weights, plate loading machines, selectorized machines, and cable machines.
  • Balance- exercise designed to improve and/or maintain one's ability to balance. The Station offers Bosu Balls, exercise balls, and various areas for balance training to take place. Feel free to drop in to one of our Tai Chi for health
  • Flexibility- exercise that helps joints and tendons become more flexible over time. The Station offers a few resources meant to increase one's flexibility, mostly in the lower body, as well as yoga mats, straps and blocks. You can also join us in one of our Yoga, Stretch & Restore, or Senior Stretch classes
