Moore Updates

The City of Moore will hold a community-wide public meeting in preparation for an update to the city’s Comprehensive Plan on Thursday, May 12, 2016 beginning at 6:30 pm, The Station at Central Park, 700 S. Broadway, Moore, Oklahoma. This meeting is the first in a series of meetings and public participation events that will be held for this project over the next year. At Thursday’s meeting, discussions will include a review of the current state of the city, as well as an analysis of major developments that have taken place since 2006 that may impact future growth.

A Comprehensive Plan is a statement of a community’s vision of itself now and in the future, which directs the physical growth, development and redevelopment of a community. The plan serves as a tool, combining the many functional parts of a city into a unified document that helps the community to achieve its long-term goals and objectives.

For residents who wish to shape their community’s future or have concerns about traffic congestion, sidewalks and trails, location of new developments, or blighted areas, participation in this process is important. For those unable to attend the public meetings, there are other ways to participate: 1) Visit the project’s website at http://envision.cityofmoore.com/ to participate online; or 2) Follow regular updates through the City of Moore social media pages and posts.
