The annual Moore War 5K Run will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017. Registration will be held at the Moore High School parking lot beginning at 6:30 a.m.
The run will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main and Eastern (Moore High School parking lot).
Parts of Eastern Ave., 19th St. and Broadway Ave. will be closed for the safety of the participants during this event.
Roads will be reopened as soon as all the participants have completed sections of the race course. We expect the entire race course to be reopened no later then 9 a.m. with the exception of the finish line area at 200 N Broadway.
The Moore War Run committee would like to invite our citizens to come out and watch the race and show our community spirit to the runners. Proceeds from the run will be split evenly between the Moore High School Alumni Association, Westmoore High School Alumni Association, and Southmoore High School student fund.
This 5K run through downtown Moore benefits the scholarships for all three high schools. This run is sanctioned by the USATF and timed with ChampionChips. Sign up to run or to volunteer at moorewarrun.com.
Since 1988, Lions and Jaguars have sparred against one another in a race to determine the big cat in town. When it comes to Moore War, rivalries run deep and emotions run high. Each August, alums from Moore and Westmoore, as well as members of the community, put aside their differences to come together for a common cause–current students.
