Moore Sales Tax
On November 8, 2016, voters approved the renewal of a temporary ¼ cent sales tax. The extension of the sales tax shall be limited to a period of four (4) years, commencing April 1, 2017, and ending March 31, 2021. All revenues and proceeds from the ¼ cent sales tax shall be used for existing parks and recreation facilities and a fire station and training facility.
The sales tax in Moore, charged on purchases, will be 8.5%. Of this amount the city receives 3.75%, the state 4.5% and Cleveland County .25%. If you have questions about sales tax, please call the Moore City Clerk’s Office at (405) 793-5020.
Merchants are asked to make this change within their collection systems so they can remit the correct amount and not have to pay any differences from their profits.
If you visit a business in Moore that is not charging 8.5% after April 1st, please email the City of Moore so we can contact that business to make them aware of the changes.
