Teens can pick a tutor at Moore Public Library

Teens needing a boost with academic subjects can get the help they need with the YourTutor Program at Moore Public Library.

The library, 225 S. Howard Ave., partners with Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College to provide free tutoring for students in grades 7 through 12. Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 27, tutoring sessions run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays with no advance registration required to participate.

The YourTutor sessions will be available during the public school season on Tuesday evenings, with breaks for holidays and school vacations. Each session lasts approximately one hour, with most school subjects available for individual tutoring assistance. Students check in at the Information Services desk in the library to be paired with a tutor for one-on-one assistance in the areas of study that they need the most help.

“The comfortable, convenient environment of the library provides an easy format for teens to meet face-to-face with a tutor. They can ask questions and work on issues that they want to target,” said Ashley Miller, Librarian and Volunteer Coordinator for the Moore library. The program is coordinated by Miller and Head Tutor Ariella Brown from Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College.
