America Recycles Day

On Saturday, November 15, 2014 the City of Moore will hold our America Recycles Day event at the Recycle Moore Center, located at 400 N. Telephone Rd. At this event citizens will be able to drive thru and drop off recyclable items and our staff will sort and place the items in the appropriate bins.

Halloween - Neighborhood Trick or Treating

October 20, 2014 - For many people, autumn events like Halloween and Harvest Day are fun times to dress up in costumes, go trick-or-treating, attend parties, and eat yummy treats.

The Moore City Council has designated October 31st as the official evening for Neighborhood Trick or Treating. 

Below are tips to help make the festivities fun and safe for trick-or-treaters and party guests.

Going trick-or-treating?

  • Swords, knives, and similar costume accessories should be short, soft, and flexible.

Haunt Old Town

Saturday, October 25, 2014 - 4:00pm to 7:00pm

Jack-O-Lantern Carving Contest

Saturday, October 25, 2014 - 7:30pm

Come join us at Little River Park on October 25th at 7:30pm to participate in this years Parks and Recreation Jack-O-Lantern Decorating Contest.  Bring your already carved pumpkins or bring your carving tools to carve a pumpkin at the event.  30 pumpkins will be on site ready to be carved but once they are gone, you will need to bring your own.  Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Head on over to Pavilion #2 (closest to the pond) when you arrive to the park to particpate.   Read More » about Jack-O-Lantern Carving Contest

Movie in the Park

Mummy and Son Dance

We will have 2 dances this year.  Dancing; Haunted Room; Snacks and lots of fun!   Come to the Moore Community Center and costumes are optional.

Survivors in Motion - Digital Storytelling Workshop

Since last year’s tornados, the OU Writing Center has been working to find a way to put its services to use in the community recovery efforts.  The OU Writing Center’s campus mission is to help students, faculty, and staff with a wide variety of campus-related writing projects.  Beginning last July, the OU Writing Center has been offering three-day digital storytelling workshops to survivors, caregivers, and first responders of the May 2013 tornadoes.
