The Oklahoma Recreation & Park Society recognized the Moore Parks and Recreation Department for Outstanding Contributions to the Recreation and Park Movement for the Moore PATH 2022 Parks Master Plan at the 2012 Annual Conference.
PATH 2022 (Parks Aquatics Trails Health) is a comprehensive Parks & Recreation master plan. The plan was developed in 2011 and was adopted by the Moore Parks Board & Moore City Council in February 2012; it is citizen-driven master plan that clarifies the city’s preferred future for the park system. That future will include programs, special events, and custom-built recreation facilities that provide citizens with opportunities to spend time together in a leisure setting. It will also create opportunities for individual health and wellness opportunities in modern facilities.
PATH 2022 plans on taking care of what we have, enhancing what we have, and building for the future. The plan is to build a new community center, swimming pool with attractions, permanent farmers market location, new parks, and upgrade all existing parks.
