Police Employment Requirements

Minimum Requirements for Police Officer:

  • You must be between the ages of 21 and 44

  • You must be in good physical condition

  • You must have a high school diploma

  • If you have a GED, you must have 30 hours of college

  • You must have or be able to obtain a valid Oklahoma State Driver’s License

  • Must be able to pass written exam

  • Must be able to pass physical agility test

Risk Management

The Program provides for comprehensive risk management and risk reduction through a self-funded, self-insurance plan administered by the MPWA through a Risk Management Board. The Program provides a comprehensive health, life, vision and dental plan; indemnity and employer's liability plan; general liability, public officials liability, errors and omissions, police and personal injury, automobile liability and property damage plan; and property and casualty plan.
