The Economic Development Department provides liaison between economic enterprises and the City government in Moore.

One of the major responsibilities of this department is to attract new business to Moore, which in turn provides jobs for our residents, increases the tax base of the City, and in general makes Moore a great place to live and shop.

The Moore Economic Development Authority (MEDA) was established to encourage the economic growth and development of the City of Moore. It is intended to promote a diversified and regionally competitive economy and tax base while maintaining the high quality of life enjoyed by Moore residents. MEDA and the Economic Development staff work daily with the overall goal of realization of economic prosperity for the City of Moore and its citizens.

Moore Continues to Grow

The latest numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau ranks Moore 89th in the nation in population increase from 2010-2011. Moore, with an increase of 1,234 people (or 2.1 percent), was the only Oklahoma city included in the burea's national ranking of 100 cities experiencing the most growth (50,000-plus population cities only).
