Moore City Manager Steve Eddy announced today the appointment of Jerry Stillings as Chief of Police and the promotion of Todd Strickland to Assistant Chief of Police. The promotions will become effective February 16th. Current Police Chief Ted Williams announced his retirement in September and has been working closely with the new leadership to ensure a smooth transition. Chief Williams’ last day with the Police Department is February 15th.
“Chief Williams is retiring from the position after 15 years of outstanding leadership. Chief Stillings and Chief Strickland will be inheriting a department that is growing and has a bright future ahead” stated City Manager Steve Eddy. “The building of a new Public Safety complex and adding new officers are just a few things they will be responsible for on day one. City Hall is looking forward to assisting the new Chief and Assistant Chief as they start new programs at the Moore Police Department.”
The Moore Police Department’s mission is to “create a safe community by protecting life, preserving liberty and keeping the peace”. Chief Stillings’ goals will be to encourage leadership training for all personnel and work toward advancing the core values of integrity, professionalism, respect, accountability and service in the department.
