Fire Vision 2006
In November 2006, the voters of Moore overwhelmingly approved a temporary 1/2 cent sales tax to fund one-time capital items for the Moore Police, Fire, and Emergency Management Departments. The sales tax went into effect on April 1, 2007 and will expire on March 31, 2011.

These Projects are funded through the 1/2 cent public safety tax
- Construction is underway on the new Fire Administration building and Fire Station #1. The pad is complete and the concrete flooring was poured in mid-June 2009 (see picture below). The new Fire Station and Administration building are just south of the Home Depot at Fritts Boulevard (19th and Telephone Road). Click here to see the architects rendering.
- There was a groundbreaking on Friday, October 17 to kickoff the start of construction on the new Fire Station #1.
- Construction has begun on the two new sub-stations (Stations #3 and #4). Very early site work is underway. Work on the structures should begin this summer. See rendering
